Report abuse & DMCA notices

txti hosts anonymous, account-free Markdown pages. We do not pre-screen what people publish, but we do act on reports: if a page hosted here is abusive or infringes your rights, tell us and we will review it and remove it where warranted, as promptly as we can.

What we remove

See the Terms of Service for the full list of prohibited uses.

How to report a page

Email abuse@illumin.us with:

You do not need an account or the page’s edit code to report it. That is what this address is for.

DMCA / copyright takedown

If you are a copyright owner (or are authorised to act for one) and believe a page here infringes your work, send a written notice to abuse@illumin.us. To be actionable, your notice should include the elements required by 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3):

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  3. Identification of the infringing material and its location (the full txti page URL) so we can find it.
  4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on their behalf.

Because pages here are anonymous and account-free, there is no uploader for us to forward a counter-notice to; we act on valid notices by removing the material. Knowingly sending a materially false notice may expose you to liability.

If it’s your page

If you created the page and still have the edit code shown when you made it, you can edit or delete it yourself at /<your-link>/edit, no report needed. Pages that are more than six months old and have been viewed fewer than twice are also deleted automatically (see the Terms).
